1. Nail Ridges

Parallel lines that run from one side of your nail to the other are called nail ridges. Vertical nail ridges are quite common and are usually caused by aging or trauma. If they begin to stand out more, however, it could mean that you have a vitamin B12 or magnesium deficiency. Beau’s lines, or horizontal ridges, can also indicate trauma, but they may also be a sign of a more serious condition like psoriasis, zinc deficiency, or diabetes.
