While you’re feeding your family breakfast, you may as well give some to your plants, too. As you probably know, fertilized soil provides the best environment for plants to thrive, and one way to accomplish that is to give it some eggshells. The shells not only provide the soil with calcium, but they also deter some pests such as snails and slugs. Next time you crack an egg or two, put the shells in a bag, smash them up, and put them on top of the soil. You can fertilize your soil as frequently as you’d like.
