Calcium is a key mineral which is essential to helping our muscles contract which in turn plays a major role in cardiovascular health. It is of course also essential to a healthy bone structure and good teeth. Milk is a rich source of sugar which helps the absorption process.
Spinach is a good source of calcium but it also contains oxalic acid. This mild acid makes processing the calcium more difficult for your body. It is therefore best to supplement your calcium intake with a plant based source, but you should still rely on three portions of dairy to cover your calcium.
